A Weekend of Treasures!!!

I hope you all had a fun weekend. I had a treasure hunting weekend. I started on Saturday morning. My husband went to play in a golf tournament, so I went to a church flea market. (kind of a glorified rummage sale) Anyway I got this cute tray for .50cents. Next I went to a couple of garage sales. The first one was a bust, but the second one, I got a very cute white wicker child size wicker table and 2 chairs for $5.00

Now fast forward to Sunday morning. My husband and I arrive at the Ventura Flea Market at around 7:15 am. It is a beautiful day next to the Pacific Ocean. The Ventura Flea Market is located at the Ventura County Fair Grounds, which is right next to the ocean. Pretty nice!
Anyway, I picked up this really cute glass encased terrarium for $25.00. Now the fact that the tray and terrarium are pink is not a problem. I'm sure some of you would keep the pink, but I have the need to paint them RED!!! (I will show you the finished products later in the week)

I also picked up some really nice ephemera, at various booths. I didn't spend more than $6.00 on all of it.
So, needless to say it was a fun weekend of treasure hunting. My favorite kind of weekend!

Now, I am going to go do some serious painting.

Now that's MY kind of weekend!
Can't wait to see how you transform the pink terrarium thingy.

I hit the tail end of flea market on Sunday and found a few bargains myself.
Don't you love it?!

Well, it looks like you found some goodies as well!! It was pure luck that I found the dress form. I never see them for sale. One of the vendors told me that she has had luck finding at country auctions.

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. I sincerely appreciate them.

Rosemary-
Ohhhh Ventura.....I'm so envious! I would love to go there but a Sunday jaunt halfway across the country is a bit much for me.
Looks like you found some good stuff! I think red is a good idea, been partial to that myself lately. Can't wait to see how they turn out.

Oh I would love to go to that market! The Rose Bowl would be a real dream, too.

I can hardly believe you don't like choc chip cookies! OK girl, that is weird! LOL

Thank you for visiting my blog!
You found some lovely treasures..... I'm a pink girl, so I'd have to leave that terrarium as is ~ but I'm sure it will look great red too ~ please share a pic of it when finished.
I love those postcards (birds) in the last photo!
