Look how cute is this?? It is a book, in the shape of a birdcage, all about Birds of America.
My friend Joan has tons, (I mean tons) of collectibles, like this. One day, she brought some things, over for me to look at. I admired this birdcage book. She emailed a picture of it to me, so I could have it. It came out so clear, that I wanted to share it with you. Joan tells me, this was a giveaway, (Can you believe with cigarettes), back in the 1920's or so.
I just thought it was so pretty! I may have to use it, in a future card or collage, sans the word cigarettes, at the bottom.
I'm glad Joan brought this out of the attic for me to see. Apparently she has been holding out on me. I had no idea she had this stuff.
By the way, Joan is my good friend, and walking buddy. As far as we can remember, we have been walking together for about 13 years. Our kids have known each other, since kindergarten.
You never know, what your friends might be storing in the attic.
I hope you enjoy the picture, as much as I do.

I love that---it's so pretty! Vintage images are so much fun, aren't they?
I've bought quite a few tobacco/cigarette cards on eBay, especially for the guys in my life (there are lots of cigarette cards for masculine interests and hobbies).
I'm glad that you shared that...it's very interesting, and good-looking, too.

Hi Rosemary, to answer your question you left on my comment. I'm wanting Melinda to win. I like Jordin too though. If Melinda or Blake win, I win $60.
How stunning! My mum and I love anything vintage, but I think my mum would especially appreciate this simply because of the birds! You've inspired me to go digging through my attic to find such treasures...I'll post my finds tomorrow!
Very pretty! That's so cool that its a book about birds shaped like a birdcage. How neat is that! I love anything having to do with birds & nature.

So pretty! Don't you love walking? Thanks for stopping by today...I got married at 26 too. I think it's a great age to wed. Best of luck to her, and to the mother of the bride!
Thanks for entering my drawing, and of course I have been here before! I like to visit your spot.

That book is so pretty!
I gravitate toward anything with birds.
Well, the 2-dimentional kind.
Real life birds and I have a love/hate thing going on. (they roost on my trellis and nest outside my bedroom window).
And I love the mirror you found at the Rose Bowl flea market.
Kimberly :)
I added you too, Rosemary!
I am so excited for you Rosemary on your new treasure! I can't wait to see her!!
I too love the bird image. I have bought a few cigarette cards in the past and the images are just gorgeous.
