French Flea Market Style Guest Post
French flea market style is a lot like French style in general; it's effortless, a little hodgepodge-y, it's daring, but not too daring and it's always so darn chic! At any flea market, in France or in your hometown, you're sure to find that one eclectic velvet wingback chair, vintage poster or beveled mirror that's perfect in its vintage, well-worn glory. The flea market look is practically overflowing with decorating ideas, so get thee to the nearest French flea market (or maybe eBay) and start looking for that perfect piece.
This room exhibits classic French flea market style. The perfect antique chandelier, a couple of French wingback chairs and a linen-upholstered settee are put together in a seemingly effortless way.
This bedroom design is accented with the kind of things you'd be lucky to find at a french flea market. You can find things like a silk Mariano Fortuny Pendant Lamp, some accent pillows and table lamps at a bargain at a really good flea market.
This child's bedroom is playful and chic, with its vintage poster and cowhide rug. Any grown-up would be lucky to have such a chic bedroom.
Love this room's eclectic design!
Here is a work table from Emily Chalmer's book, “Flea Market Style.”
French fashion designer, Marcel Marongui, would know all about decorating in the French flea market style...especially since he has the convenience of a delicious Parisian apartment. It's a small studio, bot even 700 sq. ft., yet it packs a wallop of a punch in its chicness. It's classic in its mix of styles and flea market finds.
The great thing about the French flea market style is that it's remarkably easy to achieve. All you have to do is head to the flea market and see what you great pieces you'll find.

$2 Antique Mirror
Hi all,
Hope you had a fantastic Labor Day weekend!!
Saturday was garage sale day. I always have a fun time treasure hunting with my daughter on Saturday mornings.
This week, I found this cool antique mirror for only $2. Could not believe it, as I have paid much more in the past for these kinds of mirrors.
I had the perfect spot to hang it where it reflects my little chandelier and my DREAM sign which hangs over my bed.
Well, it's back to my Halloween art.
Talk again soon,
Love,
Rosemary

Too Busy to Blog! Halloween Pics!
Hi all, and Happy Labor Day Weekend!
Here are some reasons I have not been blogging lately.
Halloween, Halloween and more Halloween.
Picking out new light fixtures. This is my new Pottery Barn lamp.
More new lights to come!! I had to reorder my new pendant lights, so it took me awhile to find some.
I had originally ordered mercury glass pendants, but they were out of stock everywhere, and they kept pushing the arrival date further back until it wouldn't be til Thanksgiving that they might arrive.
So I went on line and found a great Etsy shop called Lamp Goods. Look it up on Etsy!!!
Really great lights. I found them, ordered them and they should be arriving any day now.
This shop has really unique lamps with a vintage feel as well as some industrial chic lamps.
I am glittering scary crows right now, and making more Halloween flags.
Have a great long weekend!!
Enjoy!
XOXO,
Rosemary

Old baskets!
Hi all,
Been too busy to blog lately, but I wanted to show you the cute old baskets I found over the weekend.
I went to a great little tag sale on Sunday and found these there. They were calling my name so I had to buy them. Not sure yet how or where I will be using them, but I'm sure I will think of something.
I also picked up a great chair that I'm going to redo as soon as I get the time.
Hope all is well with you. I'm still working on many many Halloween items, as well as birthdays and Christmas. Never a dull moment around here.
Have a great week!
Chat again soon.
Love,
Rosemary

Guest Blogger from Arcadian Home
Hi again! I’m Jennifer and I write for Arcadian Lighting, a must-shop resource for beautiful light fixtures. I have always had a soft spot for home decor, ever since I was little, and I'm so excited that I get to write about home decor for a living. I've already had the distinct privilege of blogging for Roses Petite Maison and I'm thrilled to be back, this time sharing a post on some adorable shabby chic rooms. Thanks, Carol!
Finding great furniture and home accessories doesn't have to mean putting a dent in the bank account - some of the most incredible treasures can be found at inexpensive flea markets. Bursting with antiques, glassware, light fixtures, table decor, and so much more, there's no limit as to what can be discovered for shabby chic rooms.
Patio with panache
Almost everything in this outdoor space is refurbished, from the daybed and table to the fabric-covered pillows. This is a dreamy escape set against nature's backdrop.
Casual dining
This traditional table and chairs were given a new lease on life with a fresh coat of paint and charming white cushions. The vintage dishes in the background are also pretty flea market finds.
Lovely pastels
The oversized sink in this kitchen gives the space a retro feel, while the collection of dinnerware on the open shelves showcase some shabby chic flea market buys. Note the small weathered bench on the floor, a great little detail.
Gorgeous great room
A modern ceiling light offsets the dated furniture, like the chest of drawers and coffee table, as well as the pale retro-infused colours of the adjoining kitchenette.
Delectable dining
An ornate chandelier lighting fixture is an elegant detail over this shabby chic dining room table, lending some richness to the whitewashed setting.
Opulent office
A reupholstered dining room chair is the perfect seat in front of this second-hand desk -- this home office pulls double duty as a sitting room with a vintage recovered couch too.
Neat niche
This looks like an ideal spot to enjoy brunch or share the company of a friend; the foldable steel lawn chairs look surprisingly right around a more formal table. The hanging light fixture and lamp on the mantel are the finishing touches to this mismatched (yet streamlined) room.
Tea toddler
Little girls will love clanking teacups around this mini shabby chic table and chairs - the delicate flower-printed wallpaper is oh-so-pretty!
