French Flea Market Style Guest Post

French flea market style is a lot like French style in general; it's effortless, a little hodgepodge-y, it's daring, but not too daring and it's always so darn chic!  At any flea market, in France or in your hometown, you're sure to find that one eclectic velvet wingback chair, vintage poster or beveled mirror that's perfect in its vintage, well-worn glory.  The flea market look is practically overflowing with decorating ideas, so get thee to the nearest French flea market (or maybe eBay) and start looking for that perfect piece.

This room exhibits classic French flea market style.  The perfect antique chandelier, a couple of French wingback chairs and a linen-upholstered settee are put together in a seemingly effortless way.

This bedroom design is accented with the kind of things you'd be lucky to find at a french flea market.  You can find things like a silk Mariano Fortuny Pendant Lamp, some accent pillows and table lamps at a bargain at a really good flea market.

This child's bedroom is playful and chic, with its vintage poster and cowhide rug.  Any grown-up would be lucky to have such a chic bedroom.

French fashion designer, Marcel Marongui, would know all about decorating in the French flea market style...especially since he has the convenience of a delicious Parisian apartment.  It's a small studio, bot even 700 sq. ft., yet it packs a wallop of a punch in its chicness.  It's classic in its mix of styles and flea market finds.

The great thing about the French flea market style is that it's remarkably easy to achieve.  All you have to do is head to the flea market and see what you great pieces you'll find.
