Christmas Tree?

Hi all, hope you had a great weekend.
We all like to repurpose, recycle etc. While antiquing on Saturday with my husband, we came upon this, I think Christmas tree. I instantly had to have it. It was one of those things. It is made from an antique stand of some sort, rusty wire, and chicken wire. How cool!! I figured it would look cute with white lights at all times of the year. I could decorate it and redecorate it for different holidays. Now the problem is where to put it, or store it til Christmas. Not sure yet, so it's sitting atop my dining table waiting for me to figure it out. It's a great piece of folk/altered art or whatever you want to call it. I just like it. We won't discuss the price. We got the guy to come down a bit. I walked away, but my husband knew that I liked it, so being the guy he is got it for me. Later that night at home he said to me,"good eye", so I guess he likes it too.
If you have any ideas, and I know you do, feel free to tell me what you think I should do with it, or where to put it. Keep it out all year or only at Christmas?
Have a great week!
Chat again soon.
Love,
Rosemary

Oh I love the tree what a awesome find !!! Of course I would have to pin antique lace scraps on the outside fill the inside with white lights ..then print out some old photos on vellum and attatch them over the lace so the light would show through them softly ...

Oh you are going to have fun with this piece ..share picts with us !!!

Hi Rosemary! I would leave it out all year. You could stuff moss in some of the holes for spring/Summer and decorate with spring ornaments and bird nests etc.... Fall could be cool too. I'm sure with you eye you could make it fabulous!!

Keep it out all year. It reminds me of a parasol, you could decorate it that way part of the year!

Oh it is Gorgeous! I would leave it as is or maybe decorate it according to the season. What about a trim going around it, so pretty. Oh, what about the moss dripping down from certain spots with your dried Hydrangea's so Pretty. You do find the best stuff. Have a good week, xo Jamie

Hi Rosemary,

I love your new wire tree.
I would pin old fabrics, laces, buttons, brooches and bows on it.
Or go the moss, birds, twigs, or nests theme.
Please show us when you sort it out.

Happy week
Hugs
Carolyn

What a fun place. I like your idea of having it lit all year. Will you put it outside or inside. I think it would also make a great topiary. I am sure what ever you decide we will all love it!

Wicked cool. I would keep it out all year long! I can see it adorned in old photo's, bits of great old paper's, using old earrings as clips (down here the taupe, black and cream color scheme is big!)...so I can see that happening...It's wonderful, what an awesome find.

Hi Rosemary,
That tree is awesome. I think it would look great would old black and white photographs or black and white photos of your friends and family tied on with ribbon or clipped on with old clothes pins. It's a great display piece.
Have a great day!

Melinda
