Garage Sale Extravaganza!

Hi all!
Hope you had a great weekend!
As I mentioned in my previous post, my daughter and I were heading out early Saturday morning for a huge community garage sale. It started at 6:30am. We arrived about 7:00am. My very sweet husband was actually our chauffeur. This way we could cover more ground. We would walk aways, and he would come and pick us up, and drive us to the next street. A good idea, considering it was a really hot day, and my daughter is now 7 months along.
I got this amazing coffee table, now mind you I was not looking for one. It found me.
I had a kind of white, shabby french one in my family room for quite sometime. I always found it to be a little small. When I spied this one, I knew I had to have it. My daughter liked it too. I asked how much? The lady had to go through her speech about how it came from a very expensive store in Santa Barbara etc. Which I could tell, because I have been there. Bottom line is she wanted $150.00, and I got it for $140.00. Not bad since it's a $400.00 plus table. It's the kind of french farm table rustic look that I like. It has a drawer for our many remotes, and it's got plenty of space on top for my ever changing decorating. Good thing my husband was there, because this is a heavy piece.
I also got this pretty silver mirror, the one on the right side of the picture for $4and this pretty metal candle holder for my outside table for $2. Pretty good I think.
My daughter got some kids books, and a really cool Halloween decoration. A head in a globe type thing that talks and glows. Brand new in the box marked $60 for $3. As you might remember she does a giant Halloween graveyard in her front yard.
So it was a good day at the sales.
I love treasure hunting!!
Have a great week!
Chat again soon.
Love,
Rosemary

GO ROSEMARY!
Excellent finds, everything! Yikes, I had forgotten how great the yard sales were out in California. When I moved to Boston, I thought the sales would be awesome...NOT. Too expensive. People KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE OUT THERE! Here in Minnesota, the sales are better. Very good....you are gonna have fun! Anita
