Garage Sale Extravaganza!

Hi all!
Hope you had a great weekend!
As I mentioned in my previous post, my daughter and I were heading out early Saturday morning for a huge community garage sale. It started at 6:30am. We arrived about 7:00am. My very sweet husband was actually our chauffeur. This way we could cover more ground. We would walk aways, and he would come and pick us up, and drive us to the next street. A good idea, considering it was a really hot day, and my daughter is now 7 months along.
I got this amazing coffee table, now mind you I was not looking for one. It found me.
I had a kind of white, shabby french one in my family room for quite sometime. I always found it to be a little small. When I spied this one, I knew I had to have it. My daughter liked it too. I asked how much? The lady had to go through her speech about how it came from a very expensive store in Santa Barbara etc. Which I could tell, because I have been there. Bottom line is she wanted $150.00, and I got it for $140.00. Not bad since it's a $400.00 plus table. It's the kind of french farm table rustic look that I like. It has a drawer for our many remotes, and it's got plenty of space on top for my ever changing decorating. Good thing my husband was there, because this is a heavy piece.
I also got this pretty silver mirror, the one on the right side of the picture for $4and this pretty metal candle holder for my outside table for $2. Pretty good I think.
My daughter got some kids books, and a really cool Halloween decoration. A head in a globe type thing that talks and glows. Brand new in the box marked $60 for $3. As you might remember she does a giant Halloween graveyard in her front yard.
So it was a good day at the sales.
I love treasure hunting!!
Have a great week!

Party!

Hi all!
Happy Friday!
Hope you all had a great week. I was busy as usual. I was working on some crowns, boxes, and these pink party hats! I love making them. They are so much fun, and who doesn't love a great party hat? I am already thinking up some new hats and crowns for Halloween. Can't wait to get started on those. I must finish up by daughter's baby shower decorations first. I will have pictures soon. These things take time, but it will be worth it in the end. Luckily her shower is at the end of August, so I still have some time.
Whatever you have planned for your weekend, enjoy!
I am heading out early in the morning with my daughter to one of the biggest community garage sales around. Wish us luck!
I will let you know how we do.

Burlap and Sparkle!

Hi all!
Hope you are having a good week.
I recently got these burlap pillow covers for a great price. They came from a really chic shop, but as I said, great price! I knew they would be great for making pillows.
The thing is, I don't sew much. I can make a pillow, but to be honest, I don't like sewing. I would rather be working on my crowns etc. So I got some down pillows, put them in the covers, folded them up like an envelope. Next I got out my trusty glue gun. Glued them shut, added some scrunched seam binding, and a pretty vintage rhinestone button. Voila,(used this word in my last post), pretty new pillows. Easy, and very in right now.
Had fun making these, and not as frustrating as sewing on burlap.
Have a great night!

PS, the whole project probably cost about $25.(Thought you would want to know that)

Joie De Vivre!

Joy of Life!
A good way to start off the week.
I am always changing my front door wreath with the seasons, holidays or moods.
I took down the patriotic decor, and replaced it with this muslin, hand stamped ribbon. I was trying out some new stamps, so I stamped Joie De Vivre on the muslin, added a vintage rhinestone clip, and 2 glass glitter stars that I made. Voila, a new wreath.
I also bought this amazing vintage looking pure silk ribbon, and stamped the word Paris on it. I wasn't sure if you could stamp on silk, but you can. I used an ink made especially for fabric.
I am really getting into more sepia tones, black and white, linen, burlap etc.
Well, I had better get back to work. I am working on a rather large glittered crown, and some special large glittered initials for a wedding.
Just wanted to say hi, and happy Monday!

Fun Weekend!

Hi all!
Hope you all had a fun 4TH weekend!
We had a nice BBQ with our family and friends!!
Ate good food, laughed, watched fireworks, and got to see the 4D DVD of our soon to be born grand baby JAKE!! Our daughter had the 4D DVD done on Friday. Pretty amazing!
He looks like his mommy did when she was born. As soon as I saw the pictures I had to go and get the baby picture of her to compare. Pretty darn close.
If you want to see the pictures, head over to Amanda's blog. Just go to my side bar and click on Baby Balice Blog.
I also had some time to make new crown note cards for my Etsy shop.
Have a great start to your week!

More 4TH!

Hi all!
Still getting ready for the 4TH. I have done a little more decorating outside, and still need to do more in my backyard. I have been fighting a little cold this week, so I have been a bit slower than usual, and got behind by a super rush order.
I can't believe it's July already. Next month is my daughter's baby shower, than the month after that poof, baby is here!!
I can't believe I am saying this, but very soon I will be starting on my Halloween projects.
Enjoy your day!! I will try to get more pictures of my backyard when it is finished.
Chat soon.

Rosemary
