Happy Weekend!
Hi all!
Hope you have a happy and fun weekend. Tonight I'm having a movie night with my daughter and baby Jake. My husband and Amanda's husband are going to a poker game. It's always fun to watch movies that the guys don't want to see. It will be fun to play with the baby as well. See my daughter's blog for updated video of Jake. He is rolling over now from back to tummy, and tummy to back. Very cute!!
Thought you might like to see some vintage Valentine postcards.
I am headed to the Ventura Flea Market on Sunday. Can't wait to see what I might find. They have not had a flea market there since November.
Jennifer Grey will be there selling her vintage wares. It will be fun to visit with friends and shop of course. I'm hoping to find more supplies for my artwork.
Whatever your plans, enjoy yourself!

I saw Marie!
Not really, it was just Kirsten Dunst eating lunch at our local health food store.
My brush with Marie/Kirsten was this afternoon. I had my hair done today, and it took forever. I was starving after it was done, so I walked a few doors down to the health food store/cafe. There she was, Marie/Kirsten having lunch with some scruffy looking skinny guy. I don't know who he was. She had no makeup on, hair pulled back in a bun, and she seemed to be in a rather grumpy mood. I was standing at the counter waiting for my to go order (Soup and Salad), they got up from their table to pay. She stood right next to me and I moved over for her. She did not smile or say anything, and neither did I.
That was my brush with Marie. My lunch was very good by the way, and my hair looks great!!
I'm sure you could not have lived all day without this Hollywood report.
Have a great afternoon.

More Art!
Hi all.
Happy Weekend!
Hope you are having a fantastic weekend so far.
I took some photos of 3 more recent creations.
They all went to Sticks N Stones, in fact the birdcage nest got sold in 2.8 seconds. Not really, maybe 5 minutes after I brought it to the shop. Everyone seems to enjoy the natural look of sticks, moss, and nests.
It's so cold here today, you East Coast and Midwest people will laugh, but it was 35 this morning when I got up, and our Mountains are covered in beautiful snow. We have been getting some weather for a change.
Have a lovely day!

Just Listed!
Hi all.
It's still raining here in Southern California.
I wanted to let people know that I just listed this crown on my Etsy shop.
It's the first time I have added a crown to my shop in a long while. I finally had some Etsy time. Seems like a shameless plug, but it's the only way I know how to get it out in the world. If you ever want to see what is in my shop, just click on the Vintage Crown button on my side bar.
If you ever want a custom designed crown just email me, I will be happy to make one for you.
Have a great day!
Stay dry, warm and cozy!

Lampshades!
Hi all!
Hope you had a great weekend.
As you can see I have been busy working on lampshades.
The burlap ones are great to do, but the cheese cloth is another story.
Not easy to work with, but the results are pretty.
Before I use any cheesecloth I coffee stain it. I like working with coffee more than tea. I think it works faster and better.
These are all headed out to that cute little shop in Agoura, Sticks N Stones.
We have been having crazy rain storms the past 2 days, and we are in for more.
This is how it works here in Southern California. We get weeks of nice weather, then we get tons of rain all at once. Not good for the burn areas. It causes mudslides.
Earthquakes, brush fires, and mudslides. With all of that, we love it here!
Flea markets, and garage sales, are pretty much on all year. You can play golf almost everyday of the year, and you can go to the beach and the mountains all in the same day. Do I sound like the visitors bureau?
Have a great rest of the week!!

A Valentine Mess!
Hi all!
Hope you had a great weekend!
We were busy with Jake's Baptism yesterday.
He was amazing, and never made a sound the entire time. In fact he even fell asleep for awhile. It was a great day! A lovely party was thrown by my daughter Amanda, and her husband Joe. The popular party game was let's pass the baby. Everyone wanted to hold Jake! He was a trooper. The weather couldn't have been better, as it was in the 70's yesterday. Quite warm for January in Southern California. (Sorry)I know it's freezing in most of the country.
Thought I would show you my mess for the day. I am busy working on Valentine projects. A lot of orders have come in for crowns, cards, and cones, so if I don't visit you for a few days, you know why. Up to my elbows in Valentine's!!
Thanks for all of your sweet comments on my Chandelier shirt. I think I might start making more shirts with vintage pictures on them very soon.
Have a wonderful week!

Chandelier Shirt!
Hi all!
Hope you are having a nice week. It's unseasonably warm here in Southern California again. (Sorry) It's been nice for morning walks.
I wanted to show you this really cute shirt that I made. I used a graphic from Karen, The Graphics Fairy. Printed it out on special iron on paper. Cut out all of the details. Ironed on, and added pretty crystals. Makes a plain boring white tee shirt something special. Check out Karen's blog for great free graphics.
Anyway, I am working on more twig crowns today, so I have to get back to work. Just wanted to say hi.
Have a great day!!

A Miracle Happened!
Not Really!! Just my Wendy Addison hand made book finally got here after waiting 10 long months.
If you recall, last Valentine's weekend we traveled up to Northern California for my nephew Joey's Confirmation. My husband took me to meet and visit Wendy Addison in her amazing shop in Port Costa California. This is where we bought my Valentine's Day present. A handmade book from Wendy. It is number 160 out of 450. She said it would take 6-8 weeks. I thought that isn't too bad. Great, just when I forget about it, I would get a nice surprise in the mail.
That kind of didn't happen. I think it took her much longer than she had originally thought. She still has her other designing to do, make appearances, and have open houses in her shop. At one point on her blog I noticed some of the books were being delivered. I thought it won't be much longer now. Well, not exactly.
I started to joke that I would receive last years Valentine present on this Valentine's Day. I wasn't too far off.
I noticed in the fall her blog post said she was trying to get all of the books out by October 30Th. I thought, yay, maybe by Thanksgiving I would get my book. Nope!!
I decided I would email Wendy. I had emailed her a few times in the past, and I knew she was still working on them as fast as she could. This time she emailed back and said she wanted to have them out by Christmas. Yay again!!
Christmas came and went, then just 2 days before New Years day, a miracle happened.
It was a rainy afternoon when we pulled up from doing some errands. I saw a white package on the porch. I thought a very late Christmas package had arrived. Then I saw the label on the package. It said Theatre of Dreams, and I knew what it was. My long awaited Valentine was finally here. I opened it carefully, and removed layers of brown tissue paper. Ta Da!!! The amazing book, hand made and signed by the great and powerful Wendy Addison was in my hot little hands. I very carefully turned the pages, and read each and every word. Took it all in, and my conclusion is, the old saying, "All good things come to those who wait" It was true. This masterpiece was worth the wait.
I wish you could all see it in person, as the pictures do not do it justice.
I'm sure she still has more copies available. So I guess patience is a virtue.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Love,
Rosemary
PS, no, I was never mad about not getting the book very fast, just impatient!
Dear Wendy, if you ever read this blog, it was worth waiting for, and you are one talented lady!
