Boo! Brag Monday on Wednesday!
Hi all!
It's still brag Monday over at The Graphics Fairy blog. I just wanted to show you a little project I did using Karen's wonderful graphics. I printed out this great BOO graphic. I then cut them out and glued them onto card stock. I antiqued them just a little. I embellished them with glass glitter, and punched holes in the tops and bottoms so I could hang them vertically. I made a star and glittered it for the bottom. I put eyelets in the holes, but you don't have to. Then I strung them with black seam binding. Made a loop at the top and put a wire through it so I could hang it over the cabinet door.
It's a fun little Halloween project!
Go and visit Karen's blog for all the great graphics you could ever want.
Enjoy!

New Flea Market Finds!
Hi All!!
In between staring at the new baby this past weekend, we managed to get in a couple of flea markets.
On Saturday morning we went up to Carpinteria to a small once a month flea market. It's held to raise money for the museum there. I saw this old cabinet, and it called to me. I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but I asked the price anyway. The guy was really nice, and explained to me how this piece came out of an old house on the east coast.
It was all original paint, which is crackling and chipping nicely, just the way I like it. The glass is that old wavy kind that I love!!
So when my husband came walking up, I said I really like this, and to my amazement he didn't say "where are you going to put that"? He said to the guy is $250 your best price, and the guy, come to find out later named Chuck, said how about $215? My husband said to me do you want it for $215, and of course I said yes!!
Chuck even said he would deliver it if it didn't fit in my car, but it did!!
So I spent the day yesterday cleaning it, and trying to get it in the right position in my living room. I had to move another piece into the guest room, and give a chair away that was in the guest room, but it's working out.
I am still merchandising it with goodies, some of which were found on Sunday at the Ventura flea market.
The lampshade came from Jennifer Grey's booth. It was just a plain old wire lampshade, which I wrapped in burlap and embellished with an old rhinestone piece. The 2 old goldish frames came from my friend Karen's booth. The zinc box at the bottom came from the Carpinteria Flea Market as well. Apparently it was an old ammo box. (I needed a place for my ammo)
So I'm still tweaking my cabinet and playing around with where to put the cords and plugs and all that good stuff, but it's a lot of fun!!
I am really getting into the zinc and burlap for some reason. I think I like the colors and textures.
Anyway, I am rambling on here, so have a great day!!!

Views From A Kitchen Window
Hi all!
Hope you have had a great week.
Mine has been quite eventful. Most of you know about new Baby Jake's arrival.
I will try to update with some new pictures this weekend. He is cuter by the day.
So far he is a good eater and sleeper.
I am off this morning to do some much needed housework, but I wanted to leave you with some photos of what is in my kitchen window right now. I have been decorating for Halloween as you can see. More photos to come!!
I also got this pretty ivy topiary at the weekly flea market for only $5.
I have seen them in fufu shops and nurseries for much more than that.
Now lets see if I can keep it alive.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned. We will be visiting baby Jake of course, and going to the first flea market of the season in Ventura.
Chat again soon.

Brag Monday A Bit Late
Hi all! As you know I have been a bit busy with a new grand baby the last couple of days.
I just wanted to let you know about the Graphics Fairy and the new fun thing on her blog. It's called Brag Mondays!
If you use one of her great graphics you can post about what kind of project you used it on etc. If you are interested to see what people are doing with all of her fun free graphics please go to her blog. The Graphics Fairy
Anyway here is a project I do over and over using this great little yellow bird.
I use it on one of my chicken wire crowns. I print out the bird, paste it onto card stock, cut it out, glitter it, give the bird a crown, and attach it to the crown.
Karen has many bird graphics to choose from, so enjoy!
Have a wonderful evening.

Happy Birthday Baby Jake!!
We got a call at nearly 3 am this morning that our daughter Amanda was leaving for the hospital as her water broke. She already knew baby Jake was breech, so C-section here we come. By 4:03 this morning Jake Grayson Balice made his way into the world.
Everyone is doing fine, even though there was some drama with the delivery.
He is 8lbs 4oz and is 21 inches long.
As you can see from these early photos, the proud new dad Joe, my husband Mark, Me, and a tiny glimpse of Amanda. She would like more flattering photos of herself as she is looking a bit dragged out here. She will look fabulous later I'm sure, after she is more rested.
If I sound a bit rambling or crazy it's lack of sleep.
It's all very exciting, and he is so cute!!
Congrats to Joe and Amanda!! Great job!!
We will be heading back to the hospital a bit later today.
If you click on Baby Balice Blog on my blog list, I'm sure they will have more photos of baby Jake.
Have a happy day!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Fall
Hi all!
Well it's almost Friday! I have had a busy week of artwork! I'm working on Banners and Crowns, Hats, and Flags!
I thought for my post I would just start snapping pictures of what is around my house right now. I have barely touched the surface on the Fall/Halloween decorating. This weekend I will be pulling out all my many boxes of Halloween fun!
Baby Update: Baby Jake is still breech, so my daughter is scheduled for her C-section one week from today, September 24TH, unless he decides to make his appearance earlier than that. A nice Fall birthday!!
I will keep you posted!
The calendar says Fall is almost officially here, but the nice cool weather we were starting to have is a thing of the past. It's getting hot again, and is suppose to get even hotter.
Have a wonderful weekend!

A Silver Platter!
Good Morning!!
Just wanted to say hi before I leave for my morning walk.
I got this amazing tray on Sunday. I noticed an ad for a small flea market in Ventura on Sunday morning. Not the usual big one we sometimes go to. So we went, and there were only about 20 dealers. Lots of cute stuff though. I got this square silver plate tray for only $5. It weighs a ton!! I just had to share it with you. Not sure exactly where it's going yet, but right now it's holding some of the goodies I am making.
Baby update, there isn't any, baby Jake is still snug as a bug!! Has not flipped yet.
OK, I'm off.
Have a great day!

Magic, Witchy, Spells!
Not really, just more Halloween fun!
I made a new Halloween Party hat, using background paper that I got from Karen, The Graphics Fairy!! If you haven't seen her blog, go now. Just click on The Graphics Fairy from my blog list. She always has the most amazing graphics, and backgrounds.
Hope you are all having a great weekend. Still on baby watch around here!
Some of you may know that my daughter's due date is Sept. 28, but baby Jake decided to be breech, so unless he turns around soon, his scheduled birthday will be Sept.24.
We are hoping he changes his position soon, but he may not want to be upside down right now. We will wait and see.
There is a lot of excitement around here for sure!
Have a great rest of your weekend.

The Witch Goes To The Ball!
Hi all!
Hope you are having a good week. Here it is Wednesday already.
If you remember, back in May I bought some old Victorian shoes at a flea market. I said I wanted them for Halloween.
This is the result. They started out faded and blah, that is why they were only $25 instead of $85 or $90 which is what I usually see them for.
My husband spray painted them black for me. Then I embellished them with ribbon, crepe paper and glass glittered stars.
Now I think the witch can go to the Halloween Ball!
I am just starting to add a bit of Autumn and Halloween to my house, very slowly. Don't want to rush it too much.
Have a great rest of your week.
Chat again soon.

Celebrate!
Hi all!
Hope you are having a nice holiday day off!!
I made this special order sign, so I thought I would share the message for today!
The weather is cooler, we have a day off, the baby shower is but a memory, and it's a long weekend.
That is reason enough to celebrate!
We are now officially on baby watch, although my daughter's due date is September 28, who knows?
Have a great week!
Chat again soon.
Love,
Rosemary
