New Furniture

Hi all!!
Hope you had a great weekend.

My daughter Amanda had me up at the crack of dawn on Saturday for garage sales.

There were so many that day. One of the last sales of the day, I found this pretty cabinet.

I had been looking for something pretty to use for storage and display. Not sure if you can see all of the detail from the picture, but it has crown moulding at the top, and a really pretty applique. The white shelves and back have a slightly crackled look. This was a designer piece, but the lady was changing her decor. If you look inside the cabinet, you will see a vintage cake stand from another sale. Oh I forgot, girls like to know the garage sale prices. Well, the lady wanted $150 for the cabinet, but let me have it for $100. The cake stand was $2. (Click on picture to make larger)
Here is a closer view.

My daughter also found some great stuff. She is really getting into the garage sales, since she got married, and bought a house.

She is always amazed at what you can find out there.

Now for my chair. This did not come from a garage sale, but an antique mall. We used to have a bigger chair in this corner, but we recently redid our master bedroom/bath, so we needed a smaller chair. I used a lot of linen in the redo. We spotted this chair that had already been recovered in a pretty linen fabric. It turned out to be really comfortable too. It wasn't a bargain, so my husband had to talk me into it. We actually went home, and I thought about it. I had been exhausted from hosting 4Th of July the day before, so I went to take a rest on the sofa. When I woke up, my husband had gone back to the shop and bought the chair for me. I am so glad he did. It fit perfectly, and looks perfect in our redone room. Thanks again honey!!!

Just another little view of my dining room.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!!
Love,
Rosemary

That cabinet is really special and how lucky you found it finished and all ready to fill with goodies.

That little chair is adorable and how sweet that your hubby went back to get it for you. He's a keeper for sure.

Oh my goodness that cabinet is GREAT! And for $100! I love garage sales! Most everything I have comes from garage sales or consignment shops. I love shopping that way because I can find affordable things that have character!

And what a sweet husband you have. The chair is just lovely!

The cabinet looks great next to the table. It seems to go very well with your decor. That cake stand was an absolute STEAL! Great finds! You're a great garage sale shopper. It's been a while since I've been garage saling. I've forgotten how great the prices are.

Hi, Rosemary, so sorry I don't get by to visit much anymore. There are just SO many blogs out there now...it's overwhelming!

Anyway, thanks for showing me your new chair. I LOVE it! It's beautiful and that cabinet for $100 was a real steal I would have bought that in a heartbeat too. I saw some of those letter balls at Hobby Lobby the other day. Love them!
