The Great Pumpkin!

I have been thinking about Halloween lately, while getting my house decorated for the season.
Last October 23 was our 30Th wedding anniversary. For our celebration, we took a trip up the coast to Half Moon Bay. This quaint seaside town is about 45 minutes below San Francisco. We decided to stay at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay. (You can see this beautiful hotel in the movie, American Wedding)

This is my husband Mark, and this is our view. It was beautiful!! Mark played some golf on their lovely course. This particular hotel is just a lovely, pampering, enjoyable experience.

One of the things that Half Moon Bay is known for is, the giant pumpkin contest in mid to late October. We took a little drive to see the winning pumpkin. It was something crazy, like 1200 lbs.

That's me standing next to one of the giants!! The picture that you see of the French chateau is a bed and breakfast inn that we also stayed in on this trip. It is in Moss Beach, which was just up the road from Half Moon Bay. We had a great time there as well.

Here is another view of the Ritz. This is me standing at the entrance to to hotel. They have it decorated beautifully for the Fall.
It was nice reminiscing about our trip last Fall. This Fall is all about our daughter Amanda's wedding. She is getting married 3 days after our 31st anniversary. (6 weeks and counting)

I hope you enjoyed my little tour.
Have a wonderful day!

A lovely trip indeed! What beautiful pictures and memories you have. Love the fall pictures.
My 36th wedding anniversary is next week - husband out of town on business...so sad! Perhaps I can convince him to travel to the Tetons upon his return!

I loved seeing you in the photos! You are so pretty!
And your husband...handsome!

I have been to Moss Beach! I know where this all is! It was several years ago and Bill was stationed on a ship in Alameda. Dan and I spent 3 months of the Summer with him and we traveled all over. Loved Half Moon Bay.

Congratulations on number 31! We just had 29...: ) It does get better doesn't it?
Hugs,
Sue

Great photos! Goes to show people are meant to have life mates. Hubby and I just hit our 19th anniversary last month. Most of our friends are on their second, third or fourth marriage. We're the odd ones.

I was just thinking about going to Half Moon Bay. It's less than an hour away. We used to go there and get mussels off the rocks and take them home to steam them. Steamed fresh mussels with butter and garlic...Mmmm! It's places like this that make living in the SF Bay Area so great!

Hi Rosemary,
My husband and I had our 30th anniversary last October too! What day in October did you get married? Ours was the 16th, and since the year was 1976, I still claim to be a "bicentennial bride."
Love the photos of your trip, especially the great pumpkins!
