A Lot Of Moss!

I have been using it by the bag full. Moss that is. It's a new favorite craft supply of mine. These rusty pieces were purchased at a local flea market, then decorated by me. I love glittering the little birds, and making their nests. They are all slightly different, and they are for sale at Sticks N Stones in Agoura Hills California. Diane's beautiful store!! I have been using this moss for crowns, frames, mirrors, lamp shades, and now rusty old lanterns. Let me tell you, this stuff makes a huge mess. An even bigger mess than the burlap, but totally worth it. Believe me I track it all over the house. My vacuum gets quite a work out after these.
I hope you all enjoy your long Valentine/President's Day weekend.

Adding Bits Of Black

Hi all, and happy weekend!
It's dreary and rainy today, so the pictures are a little dark.
I have been adding more and more black lately to my decor. Yesterday I decided to paint this little shelf black, and it made a huge difference. This little shelf was once dark blue, then white, then green and white crackle, now it's black. I love the new look. I also painted the little mirror on the wall black to match. The little cabinet with the statue on top was once red. It was a $20 Rose Bowl Flea Market find.
The other photos are just more black items I have been slowly adding in.
I have a big can of black paint, so look out!!
Have a great day, and enjoy your football tomorrow! I'm not a big fan, I just like the commercials, and the half time show!!

Some Flea Market Finds!

Hi all. It's Tuesday already. Happy Groundhog's Day!Is it Groundhog's day or Groundhog day?
We went to the flea market on Sunday, so I thought I would show just a few items I found. A red top hat, now who doesn't need that for Valentine's Day? Fun to decorate for different holidays. A cute little silver candy dish/compote, gotta love it for $2
This really old bird cage. Now did I need a bird cage? No, but I thought it was cool and really old. As you can see the ornate decoration at the bottom. I think I will use it outside somehow this Spring.
The best and my favorite thing was this penmanship book from the 1800's. It has amazing flourishes and beautiful lettering. I'm sure this will come in very handy for my art work.
You all have a wonderful day!

Happy Weekend!

Hi all!
Hope you have a happy and fun weekend. Tonight I'm having a movie night with my daughter and baby Jake. My husband and Amanda's husband are going to a poker game. It's always fun to watch movies that the guys don't want to see. It will be fun to play with the baby as well. See my daughter's blog for updated video of Jake. He is rolling over now from back to tummy, and tummy to back. Very cute!!
Thought you might like to see some vintage Valentine postcards.
I am headed to the Ventura Flea Market on Sunday. Can't wait to see what I might find. They have not had a flea market there since November.
Jennifer Grey will be there selling her vintage wares. It will be fun to visit with friends and shop of course. I'm hoping to find more supplies for my artwork.
Whatever your plans, enjoy yourself!

I saw Marie!

Not really, it was just Kirsten Dunst eating lunch at our local health food store.
My brush with Marie/Kirsten was this afternoon. I had my hair done today, and it took forever. I was starving after it was done, so I walked a few doors down to the health food store/cafe. There she was, Marie/Kirsten having lunch with some scruffy looking skinny guy. I don't know who he was. She had no makeup on, hair pulled back in a bun, and she seemed to be in a rather grumpy mood. I was standing at the counter waiting for my to go order (Soup and Salad), they got up from their table to pay. She stood right next to me and I moved over for her. She did not smile or say anything, and neither did I.
That was my brush with Marie. My lunch was very good by the way, and my hair looks great!!
I'm sure you could not have lived all day without this Hollywood report.
Have a great afternoon.

More Art!

Hi all.
Happy Weekend!
Hope you are having a fantastic weekend so far.
I took some photos of 3 more recent creations.
They all went to Sticks N Stones, in fact the birdcage nest got sold in 2.8 seconds. Not really, maybe 5 minutes after I brought it to the shop. Everyone seems to enjoy the natural look of sticks, moss, and nests.
It's so cold here today, you East Coast and Midwest people will laugh, but it was 35 this morning when I got up, and our Mountains are covered in beautiful snow. We have been getting some weather for a change.
Have a lovely day!
