Just A Glimpse

Hi All!!
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
We had a really fun time, but I was so busy cooking, and getting things ready, I didn't have much time for picture taking. I'm sure there will be more photos on my daughter's blog sometime soon.
Anyway, here is a peek at my table, and I can't even take credit for the centerpiece.
My sweet husband came on on Tuesday with this lovely centerpiece he had made for me in Santa Monica. I added the flag.
I used burlap over my tablecloth this year, and I loved the rustic look. I think I am going to reuse it for a tree skirt around my Christmas tree.
The pretty Thanksgiving card was made by my friend Jean in Rhode Island. She always does such a great job on her cards!! Thanks Jean!
We all ate way too much, but we had a great time with my family, and my brother's family. They stayed with us, and it gave me a chance to pretend I owned a bed and breakfast. Everyone needs some pampering now and again.
I just got back from a tiny little decorating shopping trip. I will start my Christmas decorations tomorrow.
By the way, baby Jake survived his first Thanksgiving. He had a lot of attention from his older cousins and Great Aunt and Great Uncle. We now call them Gruncle and Grant. Thanks to my mom for helping me with the stuffing and gravy. Thanks to my daughter and son in law for the pies. My daughter also made the cutest turkey cupcakes.
Have a great Saturday night, and a nice Sunday.

Branching Out!

Hi all!
Hope you are having a good week!
So, the woodland crown went over big with the lady who owns Sticks N Stones. So much so that she asked me to do some lampshades for her.
This is what I came up with. I always try to make items that if I were to see them, I would want to buy. It's like gift giving, I always buy things I would like to have, for other people.
I hope she likes them too!
It's a lot of work, and a whole process. A lot of glitter, glue, moss, sticks etc.
Since her shop is called Sticks N Stones, she went crazy for the sticks. I am working on a few more crowns for her as well.
I wanted to say hello in between gluing.
We are having lovely Fall weather here, perfect for Thanksgiving. I can't believe it will be here next week.
Have a wonderful day, whatever you are doing.
Chat again soon.
Love,
Rosemary
PS, the Branching Out came from my friend Holly. Her comment to the woodland crown was, that I was really branching out!

Woodland Crown!

Hi all!
Hope you had a nice weekend, as we did.
I just wanted to share this new crown with you. I call it my woodland crown.
I was inspired by my friend Anita. She talked about woodland crowns she had seen in a very fancy store where she lives. Visit her blog if you have not. It's wonderful.
Anyway, I thought about trying a woodland crown ages ago. I thought since I make chicken wire ones, wouldn't it be cool to add some twigs, birds etc. to a crown. This past weekend I tried one, and this is the result. It will be going to the shop in Agoura soon. Sticks N Stones!! If you live in Southern California you should check out this amazing shop. You will love it. Diane the owner has an amazing eye for really great pieces, and she puts it all together in a way only she can.
If you ever want one, I will be happy to make one for you, just email me. I probably won't have this one in my Etsy shop.
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Love,
Rosemary

Hi Jean!

Hi all!
I wanted to say hello to my friend Jean in Rhode Island!! HI JEAN!!
We have never actually met in person, but we have been emailing every morning for over a year now. She is one of the nicest, sweetest ladies I know. By emailing we found out that we have a lot in common. We know about each other, our families, and we have a lot of fun chatting every morning about kids, our hair, grand kids, TV shows, decorating, holidays, food, artwork etc. Somehow Jean found me and ordered a crown, and the rest is history.
Anyway, Jean wanted to see my table from my little dinner party Friday night. We had our friends Joan and Bill over for dinner. I walk with Joan every morning, and we have known each other since our children were in kindergarten.
It was a lot of fun. Good food, good wine,(from our trip to Napa) and good conversation.
So here is the table Jean. Pretty simple.
My daughter Amanda stopped by on Friday afternoon with baby Jake, so I quickly snapped these photos. He gets cuter and bigger by the day.
We get to babysit tomorrow night while Amanda and Joe go out on a date. Dinner and a movie. Fun!
Have a nice Sunday!
Chat again soon.
Love,
Rosemary

Wednesday Flea Market

Hi all!
Yesterday my husband had the day off, so we decided to go to the little Wednesday flea market in Ventura. They have it every week, but I rarely go. No time!!
We went up there for just a little bit, and look what I found. This beautiful old picture of St Christina. I loved the frame, but of course I couldn't resist this picture with a crown. The lady wanted $40 for her, but later I got it for $25. I guess I was meant to find it and bring it home.
My little field trip yesterday cost me some time around the studio, so it's back to work today. See what happens when your husband is home, fun field trips!
Hope you are having a nice Thursday so far.
Chat again soon.
Love,
Rosemary
