Clowning Around!!

Either you like clowns or you don't!!
Not a big fan! I was traumatized by a clown stepping/stomping on my foot as a child while attending a birthday party. They can be a bit scary I guess.

Anyway, my friend Barbara from Garden Memories, asked me to do a little circus/fair theme for her shop. The Ventura County Fair will be coming to town soon, so she thought it would be fun to have a little Summertime, Circus, Fair atmosphere.

I actually like the vintage feel of these clowns. They are growing on me. I hope other people find them fun!

Just wanted to do a little post before the weekend. Hope you all have fun plans for the last weekend in May.
Pretty soon I am going to start working on Halloween for the shop. Time flies when you are playing with glitter.
Have a great weekend!

Rosemary

A Tiny Tour!

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

We were very busy hosting the Memorial Day BBQ!

It was fun, but we had unseasonably cool weather for Southern California.

I just wanted to do a little post today, so I walked around my yard a bit.

The fuchsia is blooming.
The hydrangeas are just starting to bloom. The little violas look cute.
My rabbit is being surrounded.

This is a great time of year for the gardens, and it's just starting.

Hope you have a great week!

Rosemary

Not Fun, and Fun!!

Hello all!!

Here is what I am doing today. Our newish 2 year old fridge went out on Saturday night. It's not keeping it's cool. It's losing it's cool. HeHe!!

We have the extended warranty, but (Isn't there always a but)? The guy, and there is always a guy, can't come until Wednesday between 8 and 12. You know he will get here at 12.

In the mean time I am having powdered junk in my coffee. YUCK!
That was the not fun part. Here is the fun part. We went to the Ventura flea market on Sunday.
I got these 2 pretty, and old Christmas ornaments both for $6. This old salvaged birdbath for $35. It weighs a ton, by the way!! Thanks to my husband for carrying that back to the car.

These old rhinestone buttons and clips. $13 for all.

This cute little Infant of Prague statue. $1 2 Halloween decorations $1 each. For even more fun, Jamie of http://simplymeart.blogspot.com/ met me at the flea market. We had a ball shopping together. We never stopped talking the entire time. After the flea market my husband took us to lunch in downtown Ventura. More talking!!!
Then Jamie and I went shopping around downtown. We of course stopped in at Garden Memories. www.gardenmemoriesgifts.com/ Jamie dropped off some beautiful necklaces for the shop. We then went to some really great antique malls. Jamie found lots of jewelry making goodies. We both loved these wooden shoe forms.
Aren't they cute? A bargain at $4 each.

Can't wait until the next flea market!!

Hope my fridge is working soon.
I am having Memorial Day at my house. BBQ!!!! Good thing I didn't shop for that yet.

Have a great week friends!!

Love,
Rosemary

Two Heads are Better Than One!!

Hello all, and Happy Saturday!!

Remember a few weeks ago, I found this pretty bust at the nursery? (Crown model)

I have been enjoying her. As of yesterday, she now has company.

Yesterday, while in Barbara's shop Garden Memories, I saw her.

She is a Santos bust/head. Barbara just got them in, and I had to have one. I thought she was so pretty, not to mention another crown model.

When I got her home, I walked around the house with her, looking for the perfect spot.

Here it is, an old column. I bought it awhile ago from Jennifer Grey, The Old Painted Cottage.

I thought it was the perfect, like she was meant to go there.
I think she needs a name though, as does the other crown model. If you think of any, let me know.

Tomorrow, we are off to the Ventura Flea Market!! Can't wait, it's been so hot here, I am looking forward to being by the ocean.

Have a great rest of the weekend!!

Rosemary

Flea Market Finds From the Rose Bowl

As promised, here is what little I found at the Rose Bowl this past Sunday. I found the letter R.
(My initial), an old original roll of brown seam binding. Good for my art projects, although it is a shame to take it out of the original packaging. I found an old window for my garden vignette. One side is red the other is white, so I can switch it up. You might remember the other window that was there before, well it got termites. YUCK, so we had to get rid of it.

This coming Sunday is the Ventura Seaside Flea Market, so maybe I will find a bit more.

Hope you are all having a good week so far.

Love,

Rosemary
