A Miracle Happened!

Not Really!! Just my Wendy Addison hand made book finally got here after waiting 10 long months.
If you recall, last Valentine's weekend we traveled up to Northern California for my nephew Joey's Confirmation. My husband took me to meet and visit Wendy Addison in her amazing shop in Port Costa California. This is where we bought my Valentine's Day present. A handmade book from Wendy. It is number 160 out of 450. She said it would take 6-8 weeks. I thought that isn't too bad. Great, just when I forget about it, I would get a nice surprise in the mail.
That kind of didn't happen. I think it took her much longer than she had originally thought. She still has her other designing to do, make appearances, and have open houses in her shop. At one point on her blog I noticed some of the books were being delivered. I thought it won't be much longer now. Well, not exactly.
I started to joke that I would receive last years Valentine present on this Valentine's Day. I wasn't too far off.
I noticed in the fall her blog post said she was trying to get all of the books out by October 30Th. I thought, yay, maybe by Thanksgiving I would get my book. Nope!!
I decided I would email Wendy. I had emailed her a few times in the past, and I knew she was still working on them as fast as she could. This time she emailed back and said she wanted to have them out by Christmas. Yay again!!
Christmas came and went, then just 2 days before New Years day, a miracle happened.
It was a rainy afternoon when we pulled up from doing some errands. I saw a white package on the porch. I thought a very late Christmas package had arrived. Then I saw the label on the package. It said Theatre of Dreams, and I knew what it was. My long awaited Valentine was finally here. I opened it carefully, and removed layers of brown tissue paper. Ta Da!!! The amazing book, hand made and signed by the great and powerful Wendy Addison was in my hot little hands. I very carefully turned the pages, and read each and every word. Took it all in, and my conclusion is, the old saying, "All good things come to those who wait" It was true. This masterpiece was worth the wait.
I wish you could all see it in person, as the pictures do not do it justice.
I'm sure she still has more copies available. So I guess patience is a virtue.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Chat again soon.
Love,
Rosemary
PS, no, I was never mad about not getting the book very fast, just impatient!
Dear Wendy, if you ever read this blog, it was worth waiting for, and you are one talented lady!

Hey Rosemary! Thank you for always coming by and leaving a comment...I so appreciate you and your friendship! Simplicity is on my mind these days, but I will always be a glitter and glam girl! (As I get older, I am looking to see how I can pair down my clothing, makeup and mostly, attitude towards life!!)

Have a great week! Anita
